VHF Radio Course ROC(M) Available
Radio Operator Certificate (Marine) is required to operate a radio on the water.  The course explains the reason for having the certificate, rules and regulations surrounding the Certicate.  It is a "must have" for anyone that owns and operates a marine radio on board a boat or a handheld portable VHF radio.

Introduction and material distribution will be on the first night with the balance of the course finished on Saturday, during the day, in the same week.  A second Saturday session will be offered if the first session cannot be attended.

Boaters are being inspected by the police.  Are you prepared?

Do you have all the safety equipment you legally need aboard your boat? Be prepared for an inspection by the police Marine Unit or the Canadian Coast Guard.

CPS, working in partnership with the Transport Canada Office of Boating Safety, will help ensure that you and your family have an enjoyable and safe summer on the water. 

Get a FREE Courtesy Check from a CPS Boating Safety Specialist and verify that you have all the required safety equipment on board.

The Deadline Has Passed!

All operators of powered boats must have the PCOC card before they get on the water.  CPS Boat Pro gives you your Pleasure Craft Operators Card plus more.  The CPS card is not only Transport Canada regulations but it is the only card that meets the requirements of the United States Coast Guard.  Be prepared if you plan to take your boat or rent one in U.S waters.   From September to April Boat Pro Course is offeredwhen there is sufficient interest. VHF Radio Course ROC(M)

Everyone who operates a VHF radio aboard a boat in Canada must be licensed.  This two night course will include a text book, instruction, written examination and oral examination.  

If you are upgrading your marine radio to include DSC you need an endorsement to your license.  The "DSC Endorsement Upgrade" is available and includes the Module 2 book and exam.  

Courses are available throughout the fall and winter if their is sufficient interest and intsructor availability.

There are a limited number spaces for the course so it will be a first registered selection.

It would be preferable to pick up the course material ahead of time, along with the training CD, as there is study material that has to be covered. Particularly the Alphanumeric Alphabet. Material can be picked up at St Catharines's Marina by prior arrangement (ie call first)
